Irina Antonenko from Ekaterinburg Crowned Miss Russia 2010

Miss Russia 2010 Crowned in Moscow

Ms. Irina Antonenko, 18 from the Urals city of Yekaterinburg was crowned Miss Russia 2010 in a closed competition outside of Moscow. Along with the title and the crown, Antonenko received a cash prize of $100,000. She will represent Russia in the major global competitions such as “Miss Universe” and “Miss World” later this year.

The runner-up was Ms. Irina Sharipova, representing Tatarstan. The second runner-up was Ms. Olga Kononenko of Chelyabinsk.

Our only question is why was the competition was help at a closed location outside of Moscow and not publicly televised live? It certainly takes the suspense and surprise out of the televised event.
